The Slide is Back
Cardio Training and Lateral Movement for Healthy Aging
Adults with higher VO2 max levels tend to live longer, move better, recover faster, and stay more independent as they age.
I taught slide workouts in Alaska in the late 90s.
And now, 26 years later, I’m bringing the Slide back to AgeDEFY 😁
Not because it’s trendy.
Not because it’s flashy.
Because it works.
Especially for aging bodies.
Most adults completely lose the ability to move side to side as they age.
We walk forward.
Sit down.
Stand up.
Drive.
Repeat.
But life does not happen only forward.
Balance happens side to side.
Falls happen side to side.
Athletic movement happens side to side.
And when we stop moving laterally, the body changes.
Feet become weaker.
Hips tighten.
Balance declines.
Movement becomes smaller.
People stop feeling athletic.
This is why I am excited to add Slide Therapy to the AgeDEFY cardio training program.
